Quail, Snakes and other things you don't want in your house

 

It's true Chan found a small quail and brought it in the house to show me how "Cute" it was. A few weeks ago it was a garden snake. I have 3 boys and none of them wanted anything to do with critters until they were in Jr High. Maybe by the time she's in Jr High she'll grow out of it? I can only hope. I feel as if we run a zoo now. She wants to keep everything as pets but we tell her they all get to live outside - out of cages so they can visit their families, how much longer you think she'll buy that one?

My Boys' Idea of a good time

Bungee Jumping..................... They did not get their thrill seeking adventure from me. NO WAY EVER. Not at sunset, not on my anniversary, (sorry Vin I love ya but not going to happen) not even 20 years ago in my wild years NO NO NO. I will not.
 

Next Mile Stone Please

Chan convinced her dad to take off her training wheels and off she went. She always seems to be a step ahead of the game. She is growing up too fast.









The picture of her at the park is one of my favorites that I have taken all summer. She poses for every picture so I have to put the camera down so I don't have a camera card full of cheesy photos, which are cute but candid is precious. Here she is just relaxing by the water twisting to ask me a question and I shoot. I love it.

Summer Time, Baseball and Dreams

I love Summer evenings sitting in a ball park with the huge overhead lights on, sitting in the bleachers, the crowds all cheering for their teams. I have very fond memories of growing up and playing softball, playing under the lights, the cheers, the evening breeze, the competition, and feeling you belong to a team with an important purpose, all working together for the win, there is nothing like it. My son Devin plays Base Ball it is his dream to play professionally when he "grows up" He has played for the last 5 years. This year he is on a comp team and is loving it. As I watch his focus and determination I see my little boy growing into the man he will become. Dreams are very powerful, he has the whole world at his feet. Its amazing to watch him chase his dream and do what he loves to do.

Paper Bag Book

From My Creatively Favorite Things this is a Book made from Lunch sacks! Yes, brown paper bags. Folded, decorated and too cute. This was a gift from my secret sister at convention. I am sorry I do not remember her name.... it was a secret! I have made several of these using different paper packs. I will also give you a peak inside the book. It is held togehter with ribbon tied in between all bags. All Pages are decorated and most have tags to use as photo mats.

Tag Your It! Book

From My Favorite Creatively Things this fold out book was made from 1 piece of 12 x 12 card stock and the Serendipity Paper Pack. Easy to assemble, Accordian style folds with pockets to hold tags. The uses for this little book is limitless. And make a great gift. Idea from Ann Stoddard.

Purse ~ Not really it's a Brag Book!

Another fun item from My Creatively Favorite Things! How Fun is this! What a fun gift to give to a girlfriend! So many ways to "purse'onalize to suit you or a friend. You could make a hundred of these and they would all be different. The inside folds out to display all your favorite photos.

This cute little treasure box I made from instructions from Lynette Kancamp (Thanks Lynette) How fun for earings, or little treasures. I use mine for........ya, scrapbooking odds and ends. Love it. Did a class in June was incredible to see these made from different paper packets.

Friends Forever Book

This is a gift that I have treasured for years. My dear friend Joyce Slaven made this book for me using photos from a convention in Dallas we attended together. It is definitely one of my Creatively Favorite Things. Here are some pictures of the inside. It is an accordion album with ribbon wrapped around to keep it together like a book. Joyce you are a genius! You can also tell we like to goof off and have a great time while at conventions!!!

Birthday Card using Stamp of the Month

Things that make me happy

I thought of all the wonderful things and people in my life that don't require money (or rather, the joy is not derived from having money, but the good that comes of using it). It has made me realize how rich my life truly is.
*The sound of rain, the way it smells the way it cleans, the feel, the sound on the roof, hitting against the windows. It has a very calming effect on me.
*When my house is clean.
*A sensual long—drawn--out kiss.
*Reading outdoors in a place I can concentrate.
*Being totally convinced that in the long run thoughtfully applied effort can change the world.
*Being asked sincerely, “How can I help you?” or " How are you?"
*Having a close relationship with my daughter and sons.
*Seeing friends I haven’t seen in years.
*Playing card or board games with my family around the kitchen table.
*80’s Music the kind you can crank up really loud and know all the words.
*Pedicures. My feet are always so soft and pretty after a pedicure. I love the foot massage and having someone else paint my nails.
*Fresh, Clean, Sheets just washed. They are always so soft, snuggly and smell so good.
*I love books that I get so wrapped up in that I actually mourn the loss of a character. I love books that make me think about my life and life in general.
*Playing Luxor with Chan and her keeping up with me.
*Christmas Tree Lights in the Dark, I love sitting in the dark in my living room during the holidays with just the tree lights on. It is so pretty. It makes me remember being a kid and when Christmas seemed so magical. *Warm Bed on a Cold Morning, I love waking up on a cold winter morning and being all cozy in my bed. It’s even better when I don’t have to get out of the warm bed.
*Short Days At Work, I love when I only have to work until 3PM. I know on those days that I can go home and still have energy to get stuff done and then be able to relax before bedtime.
*The smell of baking bread. The taste of fresh warm buttered bread.
*Fresh Flowers. Any kind, all year round.
*Thoughts of my dad, he always had a saying, story or humorous comment.
*My Grandma telling me I am her favorite knowing that she tells that to everyone. It makes me smile knowing she’s trying to please and love everyone.
*My moms cooking.
*Butterfly and Eskimo kisses from Chan when we snuggle before bedtime.
*Long chats with someone close.
*Friends, sisters remembering my birthday.
*Being with Friends that know you, know what you’ve been through.
*When something I cook turns out really well.
*Wrapping up in a quilt made from my father’s clothes. Each piece holds a memory. And it is so heavy it’s like a hug from him.
*My husband, funny, loves to chase me – still.
*Teaching someone something new at my monthly scrapbook workshops.
*When I finish a layout with pictures.

Long Beach Leadership

This photo was taken at the Close to My heart Leadership Conference in Long Beach CA, it was incredible. These lovely ladies are part of the PaceMaker Unit. It is so nice to be part of a company that has our best interests in store. I truly left excited about my business and the new opportunities that it will provide for me and my customers. Leadership was filled with informative meetings and creating beautiful artwork with new products. Close to my heart is a wonderful part of my life that I enjoy sharing with others.
